beginnings and endings all at once

I truly hope that the endings involve the ending of this chocolate soaked Christmas period.

Yes, I know, I never thought I would say those words either.

Last night the Boy Wonder and I made my famous fudge brownies - they have a baking roster at work - which means I bake so he doesn't look silly. So we baked. Half of the tin went to work, the other half sits in the pantry scoffing me. (There is a kilo of chocolate in those brownies, not to mention the stupid amount of butter and sugar... all off set by a meager amount of flour.

For Christmas Jo Jo made Joshy Rocky Road

That to is sitting in the pantry - being so rich that only a small piece is required at any one time.

Upon my desk sits a box of Cherry liquor chocolates. It's the second box. I managed to force the first box down... there is still Christmas pud sitting in the pantry -unsullied. Remnants of home made Christmas cake, several boxes of chocolates (unopened), and more candy canes than even these kids can eat in one week!!!

You know - I can't be fagged making cheesecake today for New Years! I'm over it. we're having salad and that is that!!

I'm going to have to get off my ass and walk over the next week if there is any hope of squeezing into these brand new (wrongly sized) jeans. I just dyed the bloody things yesterday. They were supposedly the same size as my bright pink ones -which are loose and require a belt... I suggested to Chris that I may be retaining water (when I couldn't do up these fabulous new jeans) he replied, "In it's solid form, chocolate!"

how rude.

But aren't they cool? And quite the incentive to move my ass.

On that note I shall wish you all a happy New Year.

And cheekily point out that anyone who was luckily enough to get an e-reader or kindle or iPhone or iPod touch... could make a struggling writer very happy in the New Year by clicking on the appropriate link and purchasing one or both of my fabulous books!!

Love you long time!

Oh yeah free sample chapters are available at my website

(just a wee note - links might direct you via MySpace cos I cut and pasted this blog from my MySpace blog... yes, well, I'm tired and trying to incorporate some quick edits for the New Years story!)

The eve of New Years eve - where's the wine?

Good afternoon all,

As the title says - it's the eve of New Years eve. One more day and we're done with 2009. Quite an exciting prospect in actual fact. 2009 has been a busy and very exciting year. The mere thought of 2010 gives me goose bumps.
I can't wait to see how the universe intends to improve on this year!!

I'm pretty sure you all know what I've been up to this year. There are some humongous highlights. Just quickly off the top of my head... Professionally - finding the best publisher ever! Being published twice (killerbyte and terrorbyte) and having killerbyte become a finalist in the 2010 EPIC awards... none too shabby! It doesn't get much better than that.

I've also met some awesome people - from all over the place - I love the internet! I've also made some friends that I think are here for the long haul.
Sara J Henry - that means you. Sherron Mayes - you as well! You both make me smile, answer with honesty, and listen to my ranting... can't ask for more than that!

So tell me - what were the highlights for you? What made you smile this year? What do you see on the horizon for the coming year? Where do you want to be in 2010?

Let me know how the year was for you... I'm a writer it means I'm nosy! :-) humor me.

Taking it back

Seems I inadvertently gave some power away - so - I hereby take it back. I find it disturbing that someone could get to me that fuc'n easily. The problem has been rectified and the shields are now firmly in place.
I might have poked my tongue out in someones general direction, just for good measure.

New Years eve is looming folks -what plans have you?

I was thinking (because I know of at least two people that will find this VERY difficult) of having a themed party. Come as your fav killerbyte or terrorbyte character.

Think that might be a lot of fun. Bags, I'm Ellie. - Just need to dig up a Glock. ;-)

Now I need to get some decent red wine in for the celebration - not difficult. My fav might even be on sale! Or maybe it's more a tequila night - hard to say at this point.

Tomorrow The Boy Wonder and I are making brownies - these brownies have a kilo of chocolate in them, he is needed to stir the enormous pot of mixture. They are truly delicious.

Monday December 28th

Yep that's what the PC says. So it must be right.

I'm not entirely sure what happened to the days after Christmas but they're fast fading. Today will be a slow day - Chris said so when he sort of woke at quarter to eight. He's right it will be.

Breezy spent the night vomiting in our bed. Every three quarters of an hour or so - just enough time to fall asleep in between- then bam! She's white as a sheet this morning. Managed to go an hour and a half before vomiting though so that's progress. She just asked for a honey sandwich - I made it. It's sitting next to her. I think the idea of it seemed better than the reality.

We won't be going far today. The washing machine is on it's second full load of towels.

This morning I was playing about inside iTunes, as you do. And found the links to my books... it's quite exciting. Cos iTunes is pretty and you can see screen shots and some of the chapter titles.

See?

killerbyte- iTunes

terrorbyte -iTunes

Cool huh?

I also discovered I can buy it, even though I don't have an iPod touch or iPhone. It just downloads in iTunes. I didn't do it, cos that would be silly. And I'm not sure if I could read it within iTunes. I just had a look and then cancelled it at the last minute!!

Today might be a bit of a dead loss.

Made some good progress early yesterday evening - with the New Years eve short story.

Before I decided to play in iTunes I lurked with intent on Fishpond and tidied up my wishlist. Deleted some stuff and added other books. I got rid of the ones that were marked 'unavailable' because they're no freaking good to me!
I noticed I had the Bon Jovi book "When we were beautiful" on my wishlist. I thought I'd quite like it. Now I'm not so sure, so it's been ditched from my wishlist for the moment. I'm more interested in how they write than their lives. Plus I own almost every CD and DVD they've put out... do I need any more? (Would be nice if they all bought my books!! LOL)

Right off to sit with the sick child.

Trifle for breakfast

It's Boxing Day here in New Zealand.

We not only survived Christmas but did so joyfully. I'm not quite sure how it happened but EVERYONE had a lovely day and behaved - it's unprecedented. I'm celebrating with Trifle for breakfast.

Of course Squealer had a moment before bed - due to too much excitement and so forth. She had a meltdown. Turned out she wanted an mp3 player for Christmas, which I knew and gave her advance warning that it wasn't going to happen because I couldn't get the color she wanted. (Anyway her birthday is in Feb, she can wait) I also told her if she gets the Club Penguin Igloo she so desperately wanted, then she wouldn't be getting anything else from me. (She got a watch too and of course Santa came and stuffed her stocking.)
The meltdown was minor considering how bad it cam get. And she went to bed.

Darling Beloved gave me season 5 of NCIS. Too marvelous for words. I shall be having an NCIS fest later this morning. Because I can.

Only two guests failed to appear yesterday. They invited themselves to Christmas then text me at 5:15 pm and said they'll come over today. Pretty rude, but it's not like we expected them anyway - nor did we plan on them arriving. Our day carried on and was fabulous - full of family.
Kids everywhere playing, eating, having fun.

We Skyped with Caleb for at least two hours -so he and Lizzie got to be part of the madness. I got the feeling he misses the craziness of Christmas with little kids under foot. Was wonderful to see his smiling face and hear him laughing.

Now on with Boxing Day.

For all those fabulous people who got e-Book readers for Christmas... here's a few hints for your first reads! always thinking about my readers and how I can help. :-)

killerbyte - mobipocket

terrorbyte - mobipocket

killerbyte - amazon

terrorbyte -amazon

Of course both books are available from iTunes too - so you can read them on your new iPhones and iPod touch. Just pop into the iTunes store and search for them!

I think Ellie might have a New Years story to share by the end of next week... so stay tuned. (It will be a free PDF, and reside on the right of this blog, and on my website.)

Christmas Eve eve.

Today started much like yesterday -in fact it was one of those 'same shit different day' days.

Except.

killerbyte rocketed to #26 on Mobipocket.

Now that was exciting.

After yet another disappointment regarding the radio interview. (Insert as many expletives as you like, I've said 'em all in the last two days!) I took the girls to town - we walked. I needed the fresh air.

Breezy skipped the whole way singing at the top of her lungs - a song she made up as we went, of course.

Squealer folded her arms into her chest, hands fidgeting under her chin - which gave the impression of her thin body collapsing inward. Even her knees wandered together. Every time anything remotely resembling a bee flew past, near, across our path she'd shriek and move closer to me. This lasted for at least 3/4 of the walk. (It's about 3.5 km from home to town) For the last 1/4 she just jumped and glanced about nervously... at the merest sign of anything flying. Crikey it was fun.

But the purpose of our sojourn to Trollville was to get a chicken... the one I have in the freezer is TOO big to fit next to (not inside-of this year) the turkey in the roasting dish. So mission accomplished. Now both the turkey and chicken are defrosting. Tomorrow they will meet their stuffing and the oven. Hope they're excited.

Darling Beloved has now finished work for the year. He's got 3 weeks off, I think. YAY.

Tomorrow I cook - and make desserts. Today I attempted cleaning. Due to a flooded kitchen the floor got washed earlier than expected.

The MIL sent gifts again - remember how I said earlier 'same shit different day'... well this is 'same shit different year.' Josh NOT mentioned again. At ALL - not even a fuc'n card. The kids surname spelled wrong again. It's not that hard, trust me! Especially when she was told how to spell it just two weeks ago. As far as I am concerned this is deliberate. Just like ignoring the Boy Wonder - especially when she KNOWS that upsets Squealer and Squealer doesn't need to be purposefully upset by some old bitch troll.
My MIL is most definitely the ultimate troll bitch from hell! There is no way she will ever get near these kids. Dead bodies and hell spring to mind.

Back under your bridge troll there's nothing for you here.

On that note - I have home made burgers to make.

:-)

Keep up the good work folks - knowing that killerbyte is rallying is the bright spot in my messy week!

tired, cranky, reality radio.

Howdy folks,

It's now after 8 am.

I got up at 4 to do a radio interview that never happened -due to technical difficulties and a major communication break down. Despite ALL the ways people can contact me, no one has.
I'm a little tired and cranky today.

But just for fun - can you all imagine what an interview during the day with me, would be like... reality radio!

I can't talk on the phone for anything over five minutes without hearing this:

Squealer. "Can I go next door?" for the fifth time.
me. "Not now, I'm on the phone."
Squealer. "Why not?"
Me: pointing to phone and gesturing she should go away. While trying to listen.
Breezy. "Can you watch me go toilet?"
Me: "You can go by yourself." Gesturing to the phone.
Breezy. Loudly. "Watch me! I need to go now."
Moving to the bathroom. Then the washing of hands.
Breezy. "Squealer smells she's pooped her pants."
Squealer. Scream. Shriek. Slamming of bathroom door.
Breezy screaming at Squealer because Squealer hit her.
Squealer refusing to leave the room.
Breezy crying.
Squealer yelling.
Me leaving room.
Squealer following me yelling about a spider that's not even there.
At that point I would lock my door but sadly it's not sound proof.

This is what we have to look forward too, if I ever hear from the interviewer and the rescheduling happens. It'll be well worth listening in for!

Now while I was up waiting for the interview that didn't happen I discovered a police officer was shot this morning at 4:15 am. All I know is that he is a young officer. Here's hoping he recovers well. I can't voice my disgust at people who shoot cops because the words I need have not been invented yet.

Location: Manukau
District: National Alerts

NZ Police confirm that a Police Officer has been shot in the leg during a
routine vehicle stop earlier this morning.  A media briefing is to be held at
the Manukau Police Station at 0800 hrs this morning.  There are no further
details available at this time.

Coffee with an author

Good morning,

Tomorrow I will be interviewed on blog talk radio. Coffee with an author.

The interview is at 10 am CST - Monday. (Which works out to 5 am Tuesday for me.)
The first call from the interviewer is at 4:30 am. I'm planning on hauling myself out of bed about 4 to make coffee.  I'm really hoping my voice lasts for the hour long interview -and that Breezy doesn't wake up during it!!

I've had a rotten cold for a week, voice comes and goes... so this could be fun.
Anyone who tunes in will be able to hear my NZ accent, and hopefully understand me. I shall try not to talk as fast as I usually do!!

You can call in and I think also ask questions via the chat room - so get some questions ready!

Meanwhile... Breezy is coughing up a storm this morning. Think we're going to need some Tixilyx -that's the only cough medicine I have ever known to actually work on irritating coughs.

Now to move on with Monday. And set my phone alarm, well, at least figure out how to set my phone alarm so I can wake at 4 tomorrow!

Love you long time....

Pop rock chocolate and Christmas cookies

One of the great things about having kids is experiencing things for the first time, all over again.
Last night while Breezy was sleeping we decorated the Christmas cookies. (Shortbread shaped like Christmas trees)
This morning when she woke up she discovered cookies on baking paper all over the table and had one just to see what they were like.

Later on while I was checking my email etc, she asked who had chocolate last night. (I'd left a TINY piece of silver paper on the couch!!) I disappeared into the kitchen and came back with a chocolate pop-rock elf egg. She's had pop-rocks before. But not in chocolate.
Ah the smile on her face as the candy exploded in her mouth! Fabulous.

It's Saturday: SIX sleeps until Christmas.

THREE sleeps until my first ever radio interview.

Let's hope my voice returns properly by then.

Today will mostly be spent at home - I think. I do need to find a square cake tin - which is not the easiest challenge ever! So maybe we'll go on a tin hunt later.

Last night - after cookies and before sleeping - I started making notes and fiddling with scenes in Exacabyte. (The 3rd Conway book) I was taking a break - uh huh. I wanted to concentrate on Christmas etc, and not write until the New Year. Seems I've had my break. No doubt I will find myself with the file open shortly and Track Changes on.

God damn scuzzy scum cat, from two doors down, was in MY kitchen eating MY cat's food, again. It was that scuzzy scum cat's kitten (now an adult) that caused my sprained ankle.
What do I want for Christmas? A Glock. Those fucn cat's are going to die. I am sick of them coming into our house, eating Missy's food, lurking in my back yard and trying to kill my rabbit. They are also responsible for the death of a guinea pig.
No one feeds or takes care of those cat's - they're left to wander the neighborhood spreading god knows what diseases. When Missy goes outside they attack her, unless Gholden (big dog next door) watches out for her. They rip up rubbish bags as soon as the bags are put out on rubbish day. (within minutes of the truck arriving to take the bags!)
Makes me so damn angry to know that I can't have MY back door open when the dryer is on - because those fuc'n scummy cats come in.They also come in the kitchen window.... hello! I'm right here you little bastards.
I usually squirt them with water. Obviously that's not enough. I'd lay bait or use traps - but that would be dangerous for my lovely cat and my kids. So -shooting it is.

People who irresponsibly have cats who have kittens and leave them to roam the streets should be fuc'n strung up from the nearest lamp post. What's worse is - this neighbor will leave at some point but he won't take his scuzzy cats. I betcha they're left to carry on tormenting the neighborhood.

On a lighter note:

Checked out the goodies on my website lately? There's a lot to explore over there!
 http://catconnor.wordpress.com/

And - Killerbyte is sitting at #40 on the bestseller list (suspense) over at Mobipocket. Which is totally awesome. Here's hoping that those enjoying killerbyte carry on to enjoy terrorbyte. (Two most awesome books!)

Don't forget that you can download sample chapters of both books on my website. Or use the direct links on the right of this blog.

Happy Saturday folks!

Now I shall plan the demise of the scuzzy scum cat and her offspring.

To dye or not to dye that was the question

Howdy folks,

It's Tuesday morning - and has been for sometime now... y'all in the slow half of the world catch the hell up, will ya?

It's not a particularly exciting Tuesday. I'm sick, and was up most of the night, seems part of this NICE bug is insomnia - possibly bought on by feeling like utter shite. Sadly feeling like shite makes insomnia a waste of time, it's not like you can get anything accomplished. Especially with a serious lack of decent drugs in the house. I'd pop off to the chemist now -but  it's a long way, I may not make it.

Let's discuss something far more amusing. Yeah?

Yesterday I decided I would dye the white jeans I'd bought ages ago, (for dying, cos who the hell would voluntarily wear white jeans... oh okay, maybe people without kids, animals and house work that needs doing), so I got out the new fangled DYLON dye I bought a few weeks ago.
I went onto the Officemax site to get my dye, as I do - cos it's not only cheaper but you can always get the fixer - only they've discontinued the cold water dye that I've been using for years. All those beautiful colors, gone.
I discovered they're replaced them with new DYLON dye. You don't need fixer any more, it uses warm water and salt. (you always had to use salt anyway but it now uses 100 gm or so more). This new dye is way more expensive and only seems to come in a few colors.
I chose tulip red, navy blue and goldfish orange. They were out of yellow.
After some thought and consultation with Jo Jo - red was chosen as the color for my jeans.

I washed my jeans. Mixed the dye. Added rubber bands in random places and dunked them in. I then squeezed the dye through the fabric for a while and let it sit for almost an hour. It looked pink. I was concerned.
I'd used the old dye lots of times - Mexican red. Is RED. I've dyed all manner of things over the years with the old dyes and always got true color results. What I was seeing in my bucket was a color I would NEVER choose. It was pink.
I gave it the required time and by then the jeans were fire engine red. Awesome! I undid the rubber bands, delighted in the random patterns.

Into the washing machine they went.

And out they came....

BRIGHT FUC'N PINK.

That's right.

BARBIE pink.

There is no way this is red.

Even Kane with his color blindness could pick my BRIGHT PINK jeans hanging on the washing line, as BRIGHT PINK.

I don't do PINK.

Apparently now I do.

What the hell goes with pink? Nothing in my wardrobe, that's for sure!

I'm a little concerned how the other colors will come out. I have no idea how to fix this pinkness - except maybe add blue and hope like hell for purple. I have a feeling with the new dyes it's going to be lucky dip.

So - yeah... I'm the chick with bright fuc'n Barbie pink jeans. Makes a change from being the chick in French Blue tie-dyed jeans.

Monday morning - wishing it were Sunday

Which is not like me, I love Mondays - the house typically goes quiet and I can get some work done.

Currently, the Squealer is sitting at the table dicking around with her pills ie. not taking them. And coughing just enough to annoy me - in an attempt to prove she's still sick. To that I say, "Get to school, enough is enough!"
There are only three days left of comparative peace - and I am going to enjoy them.
School finishes on Wednesday, or maybe early Thursday - not sure. (Would prefer if it didn't finish at all!) Not feeling very 'Kiwi Can' this morning due to Chris and Squealer and their non-stop-freaking-annoying-coughing for the last week. They're mutated their germs and given them to me -I'm not impressed.

Moving right along.

Not entirely sure what today will hold - I see a wee walk to the park in our future to feed the ducks. Would seem like a good idea -it's sunny, and I have a bag of crusts sitting on the bench. I think the wind has finally stopped. YAY.

Just trying to figure out if my general nastiness this morning is because Squealer won't get on with things, is pissing around, apparently incapable of making toast, and took twenty minutes to take two TINY pills. Meanwhile, Breezy redecorated the tree, took a candy cane, and won't listen. OR - because I'm now sick and have zero patience for little girls who do not do as they are told!

I'm going to have a shower - if Squealer is late for school because she's being a pain in the butt - that's hardly my problem... not me that will get growled at in front of the class.
Lorraine -that's as Kiwi Can, as it's going to get this morning!! ;-)

Right shower - then on with the day... had the urge to get back to revising Exacabyte. Have a new character in that story that I think could do with some work.

Happy birthday to me, lol

Current mood:  fabulous
Category: Writing and Poetry
Good evening.

After a typically hum-drum day - things have improved enough for me to be looking forward to a few bottles (yes I said bottles -who are we kidding with the 'couple of glasses' crap that's usually spouted??) this evening with Kane.

My birthday is often hum-drum and typically involves me doing the housework, looking after the kids, - etc.

Not much has changed over the years.

I did get NCIS season three for my birthday and even managed to watch two episodes this afternoon, while Breezy was next door at Kane's.

Fabulous.

Nothing I needed more than seeing Kill Ari parts 1 & 2. They're great episodes. (total weepers)

Yesterday I broke my glasses - the arm fell off when I dropped them onto the lino! - Now have new ones- but here's the weird thing...  the lenses are slightly curved and now it looks like my screen is curved! - This is going to take some getting used to. Or I'll not - and get others!!

So anyway - I wrote an Ellie and Mac Christmas story... and it's freely available for you all to download on my website.

Here's the link. Look on the right hand side it's under 'downloadable short stories' - you can read it on site or download and print, whatever.

You might also notice there are some other links on the main page - you can also download or read the first chapter of killerbyte and terrorbyte.

Of course you clever dickies have probably  already noticed the links on the right of my blog - so you can follow those if you choose!

Merry Christmas y'all.

Love you long time... mean it. (God help me - I seem to be drifting back to 'Tour of Duty'... run while you can.)

I know what day it is!

I really do.
It's Thursday - rubbish day.

Today was quite productive despite having the Squealer home all day. She's sick - came home sick at lunch time yesterday. The caring continues at her school - she was left alone in the medical room at school for the entire lunchtime. When Chris arrived to pick her up there were NO adults anywhere in the vicinity. Yes, they left a child alone after it was deemed she was sick enough to call both her parents, and she reportedly 'looked dreadful'. A child with KNOWN breathing issues. The ming boggles. I'm just glad we don't have to suffer this school anymore come next Wednesday.
Squealer goes to intermediate next year - I've met the office lady there. She actually seems to give a shit. At least if the intermediate is as useless as the primary school was - it's only for two years - and I KNOW the college cares. Our local college is awesome.

The Ellie Conway Christmas story is finished -the lovely Sara J Henry flew over it with a red pen this afternoon - and a wee bit later I created the PDF and it's now on my website. You can also use the link on your right >>>> that way >>>>> well done.

What else - well as odd as it seems I listened to Jimmy Maguire's EP, 23 days while finishing the Christmas story. It doesn't feature  -because, well, it's a Christmas story and I went with some old favorites of both mine and Ellie's. BUT - I'm loving this EP. And it's very easy to fall into the songs and write, where my usual inspiration failed - for whatever reason - Jimmy got me through.

Can't think of anything else today. I'm trying to, but nothing is coming. Could be that the story sucked my soul out. But more likely it fried my brain - or added to the brain fry that the stupid school started.

Hang on - one more thing.

Something truly wonderous has happened. Killerbyte is ranking #42 on the mobipocket best seller list. Which has made me rather joyful!
Way to go people... I see a top ten in the horizon if this keeps up. Gosh darn that would make me positively giddy!

You're forcing me to say it...

Love you long time - mean it.

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Apparently it's Wednesday?

So anyway -moving right along and good morning!

Yes that's right GOOD MORNING.

I woke up with this in my head - thanks to Ellie and her Merry Freaking Christmas story: The Pogues: Fairy Tale of New York

Ellie's favorite lines:  "You Scumbag, you maggot. You cheap lousy faggot. Happy Christmas you arse. I pray God it's our last."

And then in the midst of the Pogues - Karen sent me an email... (no she really did, I was up making coffee by then) so I popped over to read her ten questions with Jimmy Maguire.

Now you all should - Here's the interview. but more than that: watch this then hit iTunes. This guy is awesome.

See?

Okay so now I'm heading off to chase the child who is dragging her feet again - she will have a new therapist next week. I'm loathe to tell her Marina has left - because I KNOW what will happen next and really am not in the most patient place right now! I'm putting it off until I can tell her WHO the new therapist is and details. She needs details - details stop her little mind running off and never coming back.

Meanwhile - looks like a warm day - need to head to Silverstream - that'll be a good test of how well my ankle is healing. (It's about 4 km, I think - I checked it's 3.7 and takes 47 minutes to walk - the map people have obviously never walked with a 4 year old who bounces along picking up EVERY leaf and flower on the way.)

Now - I'd like you all to do something for me -it's not hard. If you look right >>> (yes that way) you'll see two links, one says killerbyte sample chapter and the other terrorbyte sample chapter. Do the 'Alice through the link' thing and go read them. I'm trusting you all to do the right thing if they grab your attention. :-)

I'll go back to working on your Christmas present...

Saturday, December 5, 2009

It's Sunday - have heard NO music all week... how odd.

That's quite a weird place to be in you know... I don't go weeks without music - but last week I heard no music. I also didn't write. So that may have a lot to do with it.

Yesterday  - was HOT and SUNNY. And Miss Breezy's fourth birthday. We went to the gypsy fair. She had cotton candy - well two bites of it then gave it to Joshy. Seems the idea of it is better than the reality. lol

She played in the park with daddy while we explored the fair.

The child needs a swing set in the back yard - she'd swing all day if she had one.

We came home - and intended to go back to the Santa parade but stuff happened and we forgot. Miss Breezy was sad for a few moments but got over it. (Next weekend we're taking her to see Santa and get her photo taken - thought we'd do that on my birthday!)

Milly the ancient rabbit had her nails cut and got to frolic in the backyard for two hours with the cat. They had fun chasing each other and so forth.
Then Missy (the cat) came streaking through the back door - chased by a scummy horrible cat from down the street. I took off after the horrid thing - not wanting it to get near our bunny. (She is not dinner, she is our friend)
I ran down the back yelling at the scummy animal -wishing I had a gun. (Yes, I would shoot it without qualms)
Running through longish grass past the apple tree and the willow tree... and then suddenly not running!!
My right foot fell in one of Milly's old rabbit holes - a deep one. My left foot slipped into a shallower hole. Right ankle -sprained. Left ankle sore, and left knee twisted.

What's worse... is that scummy freaking cat came back while I was attempting to strap my ankle - I threw my shoe at it.
Kane leaped over the fence - with Arnica cream and applied it to my right ankle - then strapped it for me.
Eric was texting me medical advice and wanting to know if I needed to go to ED cos he could call through first and let them know I'd be in. (I chose not to spent the last sunlight hours of Breezy's birthday in hospital!)

That pretty much ended my Saturday and hasn't exactly made Sunday something to look forward too. :-)
Now how to get Christmas shopping done...

This is cute...

I see you...
